Christmas activities

Here is a lovely idea – Cadeaux de Noel

Hilary McColl kindly sent this to me and you might like to take a look and try it with your class. It brings a new dimension to the learning of Christmas language, and one your pupils might be really pleased to engage with. Please let me know if you have a go!

Mercredi, 5 décembre ( vingt jours avant Noel!)

It was lovely to see all your ideas being presented to the group last night in the training session. Everyone was very supportive and appreciative of each other’s efforts. Great to share the feedback as well.

This page is for all the Christmas language and ideas you were working on.

Vendredi, sept décembre ( dix-huit jours avant Noel!)

Thanks to John and Liz for this lovely Santa Powerpoint – should be compatible with both types of IWB.

It’s a really good way of teaching the colours as adjectives, with their agreements, and also the possessives. I’m sure you’ll find lots of fun ways to make this an interactive learning experience!

More Christmas activities

Here’s a link to a lovely online advent calendar which has a craft activity or recipe for each day. Links to other Christmas activities as well.

Some lovely Christmas craft activities here as well  on the delightful Tête à modeler website

A simple Christmas nativity play in French came from the MFLE: it has some songs in it – keep it in mind for next year, or give it a go now and really impress everyone!

Aileen showed us her snowmen number activitiy and the Sunderland schools website which has loads of useful things in it, for Christmas and more.

Found it at last!

Do you remember I said I’d been looking for a good website which gave us the music to Christmas Carols and sang the words at the same time? Well, here it is – in calendar form! One tune for every day in December, sung by children’s choirs and words appear as well, a la karaoke! Some are easier than others to learn, and some you might just want to listen to - whichever way you decide to use it will be easier than struggling with unfamiliar lyrics and tunes. Hope you enjoy.

Here is a link to a website with characters from the nativity.
You could use this with the Christmas Nativity play, or simply name, drag and drop the characters.

Thanks – you could use the IWB flipcharts to write some text, or name the characters and drag and drop them onto the sene. I’ll write a list and post it here.

Thankyou for the kind comments about the santa pp. I would recommend Tête à modeler website. Pupils found the activities challenging but were also engaged by them.
